About

Abdiel Vivancos is an American actor, writer, and educator, based in New York City. After training with Carnegie Mellon University’s Drama program as an Andrew Carnegie Scholar, he has performed most notably as Perchik the revolutionary in Goodspeed Opera House’s 50th Anniversary Production of Fiddler on the Roof and famed philosopher Baruch Spinoza in David Ives’ New Jerusalem at GableStage. As a Mindfulness Educator, he has worked with the New York City Department of Education & Health, Carnegie Mellon University, and the David Lynch Foundation, teaching mindfulness in public schools and providing guidance on a wide range of meditative practices. Vivancos facilitates workshops, group practices, individual coaching, talks, intensives, and consulting for educational institutions, healing centered engagements, and more. He is the founder of Silent Sound Meditation (SSM) and Yoga in Strawberry Fields (YogaSBF). Through his work in the performing arts, education system, and nonprofit organizations, Vivancos is dedicated to unifying communities with storytelling, mindfulness, and meditation.

Abdiel Vivancos is an American actor, writer, and educator. Born in Miami, Vivancos began his arts education in public art magnet schools, studying Drama from childhood through adolescence. He trained as an actor at New World School of the Arts and French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts before graduating with honors from Carnegie Mellon University's Drama program as an Andrew Carnegie scholar, where he also began his study of mindfulness and textual analysis.

Vivancos is based in New York City and has performed in new musicals, new plays, short films, web series, cabarets, and performance art. He has most notably portrayed Perchik the revolutionary in Goodspeed Opera House’s 50th Anniversary Production of Fiddler on the Roof and famed philosopher Baruch Spinoza in David Ives’ New Jerusalem at GableStage. In his 20 years of performance, arts education, and devoted apprenticeship to exceptional educators, Vivancos strengthened his passion for artistic collaboration, social diversity, and community building. He thoroughly enjoys contributing to the collaborative process of new work, holding mindfulness workshops for performing artists, and being a member of Actors' Equity since 2011.

Vivancos is the founder of Silent Sound Meditation, a mindfulness technique for all ages, and Yoga in Strawberry Fields, a community peace practice in the heart of New York City’s Central Park. Vivancos has worked with the New York City Department of Education & Health, Carnegie Mellon University, and the David Lynch Foundation, teaching mindfulness in public schools and providing guidance on a wide range of meditative practices. As a Mindfulness Educator, Vivancos leads workshops, group practices, individual coaching, talks, intensives, and consulting for educational institutions, corporate wellness programs, healing centered engagements, and more.

Vivancos enjoys telling stories of all walks of life, realizing we are all expressions of life itself. In his writing he provides accessible, contemporary, and distinct language to inspire curiosity, conversation, and common ground with some of the most integral topics of our age, such as mental health, stress management, self-care, peace, and consciousness. With reverence for his education, he has returned to his middle school, high school, and alma mater to share mindful practices with the communities that encouraged him to share his art and teachings abroad.

Through his work in the performing arts, education system, and nonprofit organizations, Vivancos is dedicated to unifying communities with storytelling, mindfulness, and meditation. He is currently developing a new rock musical inspired by recent events, facilitating mindfulness education, and searching for the next great story to tell!
